Secretary of Defense Panetta,at the Saban Forum,tells Israel to "get to the damn table"with her Arab enemies.
In just a few words our new Secretary of Defense has revealed how ignorant he is of Middle East dynamics. In a speech at the Washington-based Saban Center for Middle East Policy,on Friday,Panetta said Israel needed to “get to the damn table”in negotiations with the so-called “palestinians.” Panetta seems to be oblivious of the reality that Israel has virtually begged the Arabs occupying the hilltops of Judea and Samaria to come to the negotiating table.
Abu Mazen,the head of the pLO which controls the negotiations for the Arab side,has chosen to apply to the UN for unilateral Statehood rather than negotiating with Israel as the Oslo Accords require. Countless times Benjamin Netanyahu has appealed to Abu Mazen to drop his agreement breaking bid at the UN,and return to the table. Where in the world was Panetta during this? One can only surmise that Panetta has ignored reality,preferring instead to chant the mantra of the extreme left,that it is Israel’s fault that these “poor”so-called “palestinians”are unhappy,wanting a State of their own.
How is it that someone can rise to the level of our politicians,and be so clueless? The elephant in the room is sitting on their chest,and they still refuse to see that Israel has given territory,security,and national pride in order to attempt making peace with Her enemies. While Israel has been busy giving,and giving,the Arabs have only taken. Mazen,just as his predecessor Arafat,has made a fine art of appearing to negotiate while never accepting the generous offers from the other side of the table. The Arabs DO NOT WANT PEACE,they only want the complete destruction of Israel.
If Mr. Panetta is unwilling to recognize the obvious,then it must be because he is part of the problem,he is making himself party to the Arab-Muslim effort to destroy the Jewish Nation. President Obama could have responded to Mr. Panetta’s comments and set his Defense Secretary straight,but don’t waste your time waiting for that memo to come out from the White House.
Mr. Panetta and Mr. Obama are apparently cut from the same cloth,partners in this scheme to slice up G-d’s Land,and wipe out the tiny nation of Israel. Is there any other conclusion? The American people are not cut from this spoiled cloth,they are supportive of the prophetic rebirth of the Jewish Nation;This is why Congress is overwhelmingly supportive of Israel. Our Congressional Representatives,from both Houses,are sensitive to the mood and will of the population,they depend on their votes. The White House Administration,apparently,is out of touch,unconcerned about what the citizens of the United States desire them to do. It is our responsibility to reach out and inform the President,and his Defense Secretary,about our displeasure. Otherwise,the Administration will continue to roll over Israel any way they can.
Mr. Obama has made it abundantly clear,with his outright mistreatment of Prime Minister Netanyahu,that he disdains the Jewish Nation. Obama has shown us that he will harm Israel’s security interests as much as we will allow. When Obama has moved to harm Israel,and the American people have stood up in opposition to his actions,the President has backed down to some degree. During this campaign season the President cannot afford to be seen as being his usual self toward Israel,so we see his Defense Secretary doing his dirty work for him.
Americans must stand for Israel,contact the White House and the Administration cronies to let them know that comments such as Panetta has made are unacceptable. If we do not keep our politicians in check,we will be guilty of their sins,as they are. As we read in Ezekiel 33,it is the duty of the watchmen to alert the city of danger,if they fail to do so and the city falls to the sword,the blood of the city’s inhabitants will be on the heads of the watchmen who failed to sound the alarm. Do not let it be said that we did not sound the alarm to our political leaders,write and call you leaders,visit their offices to let them know that Israel is our friend and ally,and deserves to be treated as such. Remind our leaders that any nation that blesses the Jewish Nation,will in turn be Blessed by G-d. Also,remind them that the converse it true,any nation that curses Israel will themselves be cursed.
