President Barack Hussein Obama and his Administration have gone to great lengths to berate the Jewish State for building within its Capital. The timing in which our leaders manufactured this over-the-top diplomatic flap was quite deliberate. This very public falling out occurred just before the March 19 meeting in Moscow of the Mideast Quartet, comprising the United States,Russian Federation, the United Nations and the European Union, and Quartet Special Envoy former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The occasion for the meeting was to welcome “proximity” talks between Israel and the so-called “palestinians” to resolve “final status” issues.
The Quartet Special Envoy is the subject of breaking news in London these days,as newspapers such as “The Independent,” “Daily Mail,” and “Telegraph” shed light on his previously secret multimillion-dollar business ties to the Middle East, namely his paid advisory positions with the Kuwaiti government and with a multinational oil giant that has extensive interests in Iraq. Blair has also contracted out his consulting services to the American investment bank JP Morgan Chase, which, according to the “Daily Mail,” hired him to explore business opportunities in Libya and the United Arab Emirates. Some Members of Parliament reportedly expressed concern that Blair may have breached the Ministerial Code of Conduct and that his business deals compromise his position as Middle East peace envoy.
During this meeting of world leaders, the Quartet set a two-year timetable for the establishment of “palestine”in the Jewish heartland,Biblical Judea and Samaria. The group called for a complete freeze of Jewish “settlement activity,”including building to accommodate natural growth;the dismantling of Jewish homesteads,so-called “outposts”dating back to 2001;and the cessation of demolition activity involving numerous illegal Arab structures in the eastern sector of the Jewish Capital. The Quartet declared that the international community does not recognize the annexation of “east”Jerusalem by Israel following the 1967 Six-Day War when the Jewish People regained significant portions of their Biblical homeland while warding off an overwhelming Arab-Muslim multi-state military attack upon their soil. The group condemned Israel’s planning and zoning decision to erect new housing units in the Jewish Capital, and called upon the nations to provide concrete, sustained support for “palestine”state-building efforts. Opting for moral equivalency and against concerning itself with reciprocity, the Quartet stated that both sides to the conflict must keep their commitments. Only Israel has kept its commitments, while the “palestinians” failed to abide by all previous agreements, including to rid their “palestine”Liberation Organization Covenant of the clauses that call for taking up arms and liquidating the Zionist presence. Nonetheless, the Quartet stated that it promotes “palestinian” unity based on pLO commitments. The group also called for the resumption of bilateral negotiations between Israel and Syria, and Israel and Lebanon to achieve a comprehensive peace in the region based on one-sided Security Council Resolutions issued by the United Nations, which accommodates a sizeable Arab and Muslim representation and resultantly has a long history of anti-Israel bias. In light of these demands and the stated commitment to meet with the Arab League for recommendations on how to proceed with the errant “peace”process, the Quartet’s call for a solution to address Israel’s legitimate security concerns rings hollow. In an effort to force the above issues, the Quartet declared its intent to monitor developments in Jerusalem and to leave itself room to take measures to address the situation on the ground,a move aimed at ensuring the realization of “palestinian”aspirations for “east”Jerusalem as the capital of a de facto “palestine.”
Since our world leaders are at loss as to how to deal with Israel’s cantankerous “peace”partners, they are taking the well-worn path of least resistance by pressing a compliant Jewish State for still more land-for-peace giveaways,in spite of the fact that this manufactured formula for achieving peace and security has been an abject failure. The giveaways on the table will leave Israel with indefensible borders while significantly strengthening revolutionary Islam’s sphere of influence.
What Can Be Done?
Christians should take a strong stand against what amounts to an Evil Decree issued by these world leaders. We must respond to Arab-Muslim threats against the Jewish State and the Jewish People with rigor and we must work with other pro-Israel and freedom-loving groups to resist Islamic aggression and the propaganda that accompanies it. Boots-on-the-ground support in the form of earnest letter writing campaigns to leaders (see Builders of Zion’s Action Alert) and participation in protests before the world media whenever Israel is under attack by the Arab-Muslim community will send a clear message that the Church will neither be still nor silent when G-d’s Chosen are in danger. For those among us who are too timid for such measures, remember,Islam teaches:“First the Saturday people;then the Sunday people” shall meet its sword.
Builders of Zion encourages all groups and individuals within the Church to become educated on this issue and to speak out against the Quartet’s Decree, and America’s meddling in Israel’s internal affairs,a move that very strategically set the stage for these developments of Biblical proportions.
