Obama,Biden and Clinton All Condemn Israel –What is Really Going On?

In his speech to a fawning crowd at Tel Aviv University last week,Vice President Joe Biden has made it abundantly clear that the Obama Administration just does not get it when it comes to the Arab-Israeli conflict. While Biden talks about there being no space between America and Israel I see a lot of light shining between the two as it pertains to security and reality.

In opposition to the U.S. Administration,I prefer to approach life from a perspective of truth,so let me talk about the reality. Mr. Biden declares that Abu Mazen (AKA Mahmoud Abbas) is the best prospect for a “partner”with which to deal with to attain a solution to the ongoing war with the Arab nations via the so-called “palestinian”people. The facts in relation to Abu Mazen stand in sharp contrast to Biden’s declaration. Mazen has a long a history of terrorism and conflict,as did Arafat,he was actually Arafat’s chief apprentice and administrator. It was Abu Mazen who made the payments to the families of the Shahids, those “martyrs”who blew up innocent women and children and whose only crime in life was being Jewish. It has been Abu Mazen who directed the attacks on Israelis and orchestrated the intifada for the past two decades. Arafat received all the glory for the work Mazen was performing. So,where is this better prospect for making peace with that Biden speaks of?

Abu Mazen is no great prospect for making peace because he does not want peace. Mazen is merely toying with the Israelis and the United States State Department, constantly holding out that he wants peace while refusing to negotiate with Israel, concocting any reason he can think of to stall. Even if Mazen were to negotiate he could not deliver on any promises for peace because he does not control half of the people he would be promising for. Without having control over Gaza Abu Mazen is a lame duck if there ever were one. This is one point the American administration just seems to not understand, and for all their grand self-proclaimed wisdom, the contradiction is slapping them in the face. Mazen cannot even allow the elections he has postponed more than a year to proceed because Hamas would win by a landslide and control all of the autonomous zones.

One line in the Vice President’s speech is very telling. When talking about the need for Israel to negotiate with Abu Mazen Biden said “We can’t delay, because when progress is postponed, extremists exploit our differences and they sow hate.”This one sentence speaks the truth of the genuine motivation behind his whole speech;the world is held hostage by the terror tactics of the Islamic freedom fighters. The motivator is fear, fear of what the Arab-Muslims will do if America does not force Israel to capitulate to their own destruction. Rather than stand firmly behind the only genuine friend America has in the Middle East the Obama Administration chooses instead to sell out the Jews in a hope to somehow appease Muslim sensitivities. All the while,Biden refers to himself and his President as “friends”of Israel. In my estimation, friends like that Israel would be better off without.

Again,we have Abu Mazen worming his way out of negotiations, this time because Israel plans to build homes to fill in some land between two very large Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Again, let me talk reality here,we are talking about Jerusalem, the capitol of Israel. This is not Amman or Damascus we are discussing. This is a little development of 1,600 housing units between neighborhoods of 40,000 people each. The 1,600 units are nothing, but Mazen needed something to pitch a fit about,so here we are. Abu Mazen pitches a fit and the U.S. State Department is calling this the worst divide in relations with Israel in decades, how nuts. Hillary Clinton spent 45 minutes berating the Israeli Prime Minister in a telephone tirade in which she did most the talking and she implied that the U.S. would reduce military cooperation with Israel over the issue of this little Jewish development.

President Obama has spoken out condemning the authorization of 1,600 Jewish homes,Vice President Biden condemned the move while he was in Israel and now Secretary Clinton has gotten her condemnation on record. Let me say this —I condemn in the strongest of terms the condemnations of all these leaders of the United States and any other nation about this matter. What business does any other nation have in condemning the construction of Jewish homes in the capitol of the Jewish Nation? How can these puffed up politicians justify pushing Israel to negotiate with this murderous criminal Abu Mazen? I condemn their condemnations;I condemn their actions and their policies to force Israel to capitulate to even one single demand of the Arab nations for the false hope of peace. Israel has suffered long enough under this charade of a supposed peace process,it is time for Israel to shrug off Her disloyal friends and begin to protect the rights and welfare of the citizens of the Jewish Nation.

What friend is it that caters to your enemies while forcing you to make one deadly act of surrender after another to your sworn enemy? Is it the friend who travels the world making grand speeches of undying loyalty to the enemy Muslim nations surrounding you,but cannot find the time to so much as drop by for a visit while in the neighborhood? It is time for the Obama Administration to cut the bull and begin to admit that they are no friend of the Jewish Nation.

In fact, all Obama has done is strengthen the ability of Arabs to attack Jews in Israel. The one-sided pressure tactics that Obama has been using against Prime Minister Netanyahu has only strengthened Abu Mazen. Like his predecessor,Arafat,Mazen was nearly out of political steam before the United States propped him up again. Had Obama not leaned on Netanyahu so hard for so long Israel would not be experiencing the upsurge in violence they now struggle with.

Just before Obama was inaugurated I was in Israel,I drove a car all over the country with little fear or concern for my welfare. The roadways were safer than they had been in many years. Today, because the Arabs feel that they have the upper hand politically, the roads are no longer safe. Rock throwing attacks are a daily thing now,and shooting at Israeli cars is becoming common. Before Obama began forcing Israel to relax security these problems did not exist.

Israel has spent a billion dollars to build a physical barrier stopping the flow of insurgents from the Arab population centers and put up road blocks preventing murderers from infiltrating Jewish areas to commit their heinous acts. The American President forced Prime Minister Netanyahu to remove the roadblocks. Since the removal of these security measures Jews have again become targets of Arab violence and stretches of Israel’s highways are no longer safe to traverse. The barriers and roadblocks have kept a relative peace for a couple of years, more calm than any negotiations have produced.

For all the talk of friendship, the Obama Administration sure has a strange way of expressing themselves. It has taken me the majority of my life to figure this out,but when things just don’t seem to add up there is usually good reason why they do not. You cannot straighten what someone else is determined to keep crooked. Likewise, you cannot make peace with someone who only wants to kill you. Life really is simpler than we tend to make it out to be. If we stop deluding ourselves that the Arab-Muslim nations and peoples are somehow suddenly going to love Jews living in the Middle East, then the whole issue of the Arab-Israeli conflict becomes easier to understand. Israel simply needs to be able to keep Her enemies at bay and secure Her borders to live in peace. Peace with Israel’s neighbors will only come through strength, not through weakness and capitulation.

The Obama Administration seems to be fanning the flames over the housing issue. Biden and Obama condemned Israel early in the week and Netanyahu apologized publicly. Clinton reignited the problem on Friday morning when she berated Netanyahu. Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S. was later called to the State Department on Friday to hear even more complaints. Over the weekend President Obama’s advisor David Axelrod,on ABC’s This Week, called the approval of the homes in Jerusalem an “affront” and “destructive.” This kind of rhetoric and harshness of tone is inappropriate at best and incitive in the least. It appears that the Obama Administration intends to use this issue to pressure Israel to make even more one-sided concessions,confidence-building measures as they are called.

Obama would like nothing more than to see Netanyahu brought down and this is jut the kind of thing that could do that. Both the left and right of Israel’s society view Jerusalem as their united capitol and if Netanyahu reverses the approval of the housing units his government may fracture. Were this to happen it may force Netanyahu out of office for the second time. Since Obama was inaugurated he has tried to force Netanyahu to make concessions and the Israeli Prime Minister has rebuffed the American President causing him embarrassment. Now it looks as if Obama may be trying to drive a wedge between Netanyahu and his government. Indeed, change has come to Washington and Chicago style politics along with it.

If the United States genuinely wants to be a friend to the only ally that exists in the Middle East, then the present course of the administration must change drastically. If the American people, those living on Main Street, want to see their country befriend Israel they will have to change the heart of the leadership. For obvious reasons Mr. Obama is not going to change his attitude toward Israel. Having grown up in Muslim households and having the Koran and Islamic philosophy drilled into him as a youth in the Madrasah he attended, this man is no lover of the Jewish people, and it shows. It only makes sense that while jetting around the globe to court the “Muslim world”Obama has chosen not to set his Presidential foot on Israeli controlled soil. After declaring to the Turkish Parliament that America is no longer a Christian Nation Mr. Obama has set out to prove that we can be as anti-Semitic as any other nation. Where will all this stop? The American people will have to stand up against this assault on the long standing positive relationship the United States has had with Israel, and they must before too much damage is done.

The United States Congress, because the legislators are more tied to what the people want, has always maintained a good relationship toward Israel. Congressional leaders have passed one resolution after another in support of Israel. By passing legislation that would fund initiatives to help the Jewish People and defund those that were detrimental,Congress has typically kept the Executive Branch in check. With the political climate in Congress, wherein Far-left leaning Democrats are in control of both Houses this control is waning. Now,more than ever,it is important that the common citizen of the United States begin to push their representatives to do what can be done to rein in the Executive Branch’s detrimental policies toward Israel.

Israel faces threats from all around, the Iranian nuclear program continues unabated, with little hope of the Obama Administration will do anything of substance to stop it. Hezbollah fighters to the north receive arms and training from Iran via Syria and are gearing up for a renewed confrontation, now more armed than they have ever been before. Hamas from the south,in Gaza,is being propped up by the world governments, and Israel, the victim,is being made out to be the aggressor for having dared to protect the surrounding cities from rocket attacks. The Arab threat in Judea and Samaria is gaining strength and funding from the nations. Egypt may well loose Mubarak as President in the coming election and will likely turn even more strongly Islamic, which equates as anti-Israel. Jordan has had its leader come out and make threats against Israel if they do not cower to Abu Mazen’s demands. The Arab League has touted their proposal for Israel to surrender their security and accept being cut in two by an enemy state,or there will be “trouble.” Israel needs the United States to be a support and a help during this time of great trouble.

The American people and Israel have long been close, kind of like the way Vice President Biden described it,there has been “absolutely no space between the United States and Israel when it comes to security, none.”Even though Biden mouths these words of encouragement he does not back them up with action;and as Vice President there is little he could do to help Israel if he wanted to. If it is to come from the U.S.,it will be up to the American People to help Israel.
