Taxation, Socialism and Our Fifth Column
The Tea Party movement is tremendous. I am elated that Americans are beginning to stand up to defend the core values that this great nation was built upon. As a builder I recognize the need for a firm foundation and the need to protect it from erosion and other types of damage. During the past several decades enemies seeking to destroy this Republic have slowly chipped away at the foundation of America. Socialists have been working underground in this country moving slowly into positions of power and prestige, waiting for just the right time to band together and upset our constitutional footing.
I am heartened when I see conservative patriots rallying behind our flag and the Constitution. For the longest time I have thought that conservatives, because they had been infected with humanism, had lost the will to fight for our freedoms and conservative values. The number of people among the Tea Party movement that hold to traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs has encouraged me all the more.
Now, I do realize that it is primarily money that has motivated this sudden groundswell of conservative patriotism. The moniker “TEA” (Taxed Enough Already) reveals the core issue that has managed to excite Americans enough to hold mass demonstrations and rallies across the United States. I guess it will always be that most people will remain complacent until they are hit in the pocketbook. OK, so it took this most basic of motivators to get people out of their shells, let us now hope that while the giant is awake, he will correct his chronic apathy.
May the conservative giant not waste this moment or the momentum gained on purely self-serving pursuit. There is more wrong with this nation than the single issue of being taxed too much. If we are to correct the problem of over taxation we must also deal with the other core problems plaguing us. You cannot cure a sickness by merely treating its symptoms. Treating a headache only works so long until the brain tumor kills you.
Liberalism is like a cancer, eating away at the heart of America. The leftists in our country are nothing short of socialists, throwbacks to the Marxist ideology that long ago failed as a political framework in the USSR. Marxism, socialism and communism are all similar versions based on the “spread the wealth” mentality. The subversive work started by the Soviets on our college campuses during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s has never died out, it lingers in the hearts and minds of those infected with its poison while gaining their “higher” education. When the communist regime of the USSR collapsed it still had agents planted in this country devoted to the progression of Marxism on our soil. These agents did not buy tickets and return to the shambles of their post-communism society, they stayed right here hoping to someday complete their missions to bring down capitalism. If we are to regain our nation’s constitutional footing we must recognize the socialist cancer in our midst and purpose to remove its ideologues from offices of legislation and policy making in our nation’s capitol by voting solidly conservative this November.
Over spending is crippling our nation, not only in households across the United States, but also in the House on Capitol Hill as well. We all need to live within our means. As responsible households balance their budgets and forego certain luxuries in favor of fiscal accountability, so too, our government needs to be held to proper accounting practices. Pork barrel spending has made our nation financially ill and those spreading the disease must be replaced. As President Obama so arrogantly proclaimed during the recent Health Care Reform “Summit,” “that’s what voting is for.” You are correct Mr. President, and at the risk of overusing an already worn out phrase, “yes we can.” I hope the conservative tea party movement answers with “yes we will.” May conservative patriots vote your cohorts, spending like drunken sailors, out of office.
The entitlement mentality is consuming our youth and degrading the foundational concepts that have made this country so successful: hard work and sacrifice make one prosperous. America was built on the principle that working hard and being willing to invest blood, sweat and tears is the pathway to prosperity. Rather than expecting that all people are somehow entitled to wealth without having to work for it we must all, instead, pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. As Yeshua exhorted us would be the case, we recognize that the poor will always be among us. In exercising proper Biblical balance we are commanded to be compassionate and generous to those truly in need, helping those in a lower position to develop themselves.
Delivery of Health Care in the United States is broken. Our system of health care providers charging those who do not have insurance exorbitant prices while providing insurance companies more than 75% discounts for the same services is outright criminal. I know of a case wherein a person, I will call him Frank, had a procedure performed at a hospital on an outpatient basis. The price of the procedure stated on the voluminous financial forms the hospital required Frank to sign was $2,600.00. Frank had good health insurance coverage that he and his employer paid dearly for every month and after the procedure he paid a $50.00 co-payment and went about his way. Some time later Frank received a bill for the treatment in the amount of $675.00 from the hospital. Frank immediately called the hospital and told their accounting office that he had already met his financial responsibility. The accountant declared that the hospital had provided the usual discount and would not reduce the amount any further, he insisted Frank still owed the $675.00. After considerable discussion the accountant suddenly stopped and exclaimed ”Ugh-oh” and quickly told Frank that he was correct and he owed nothing, then the accountant abruptly tried to end the call. It dawned on Frank that the accountant thought he had been talking with someone from the insurance company and that the “discounted” amount of the bill being charged by the hospital to the insurance company was only $675.00, for this $2,600.00 procedure. Before letting the accountant off the phone Frank asked if this $675.00 was all the hospital was actually charging the insurance company for the $2,600.00 procedure. The accountant admitted that the hospital always discounts procedures this much for the insurance companies. The hospital never expected anyone to pay them $2,600.00, they knew up front that they would only be paid a total of $725.00 after adding the co-pay and the amount billed to the insurance company. If someone walked into the hospital having no insurance they would have been charged $2,600.00 rather than the genuine price of $725.00. This is an over-inflation of more than 358%.
Again, I say this kind of collusion is nothing short of criminal. The hospitals and the insurance companies conspire to prop up a false impression that health care is outrageously expensive and without costly insurance the common person could never afford treatment. Hospitals and their co-conspirators, the insurance companies, want you to believe that without insurance, you will not be able to afford treatment and you will die. Fear is the greatest sales tool; especially fear of death. Con artists are tried and imprisoned all the time for much less. Our system is not only broken, it is corrupt. Doctors, hospitals, politicians and insurance companies are all in this together. Next time you visit that friendly doctor of yours, think about that.
Adding together the employer and employee portion of a typical insurance policy the cost is more than $1,200.00 per month for most family plans. If this money was not being siphoned off from their paychecks and all they had to pay was 25% of the current stated health care costs, most families could afford to pay the cost of health care and would not need such costly insurance. Allow this money, or less, to be placed into a health savings account and the cost would be reduced even further. No longer would the average person be shackled to having a huge insurance bill every month. Insurance companies would still provide catastrophic coverage. How have we allowed this to go on for so long and get so out of hand? As a nation, we are all complicit because we have turned over the responsibility to care for our needs to these organizations. Our health insurance and health care delivery system does need to be revamped, but not nationalized.
Complacency is another condition ailing our nation; it is rotting away our freedoms. When we hand over the responsibility for so much of what goes on in our lives you can expect that many will be taken advantage of. Before long you become enslaved to whomever you relegate your responsibilities to. The more areas of your life you hand over to others to make your decisions for you, the more you will be in bondage to those persons. Our freedoms are not being stolen they are being taken. Americans are giving away their freedoms, relinquishing them to the government, insurance companies, unions; you just name the organization.
The Holy Scriptures exhort us that you are in bondage to whatever masters you. Americans have allowed themselves to be mastered by so many things and the web gets more complex every year. Expecting the Federal Government to provide for all aspects of our lives leads to bondage on a national scale. The Founding Fathers of the United States never intended the Federal Government to be our caretakers. The Federal Government was supposed to defend our territory from foreign invasion, and that is about it. The individual states were supposed to care for the needs of the citizens by providing a framework for commerce and law and order. The poor were to be cared for by our compassion and generosity as citizens, one to another. Religious organizations were to care for the destitute and homeless by providing a well-needed hand up along with spiritual and moral underpinning helping to stabilize the individual while at the same time absorbing them into the community. This is consistent with the Biblical pattern.
Returning to Biblical Precepts would cure the ills of our society. We have become a society of humanists rather than theists. No longer do we pray for deliverance during times of trouble, instead, we call our Congressmen and demand more aid. Human beings are dependent by nature, we are social creatures and we need and depend upon each other. We also depend on G-d for our very sustenance, our daily bread. Because we, as a people, do not want to be held accountable for living by G-d’s precepts we cut ourselves off from our creator and force ourselves upon other people, the government. Relying upon and trusting in humans for our wellbeing instead of G-d makes us humanists by nature.
Tolerance is a cousin to liberalism and is another form of humanism. Sure, we all must tolerate each other’s shortcomings, so on and so forth, but as a society Americans take tolerance to the extreme. While we are to accept and exercise tolerance for certain shortcomings we are exhorted in the Holy Scriptures to hold one another to G-dly accountability as well. When there is blatant sin in the camp we are to try to correct the situation, and if the sinner refuses to make an effort to change we are told to expel the immoral from among us. Tolerance in Biblical balance is limited.
External threats to our freedom and constitutional governance are just as much a danger to our society as over taxation, even more so. If we do not recognize and deal with all threats, foreign and domestic, the issues of taxation and oversized government will be moot points. Communism is still a simmering pot waiting to again boil over, hoping to bring down the capitalist society of America. Russia, the muted remnant of the USSR is still lead by the former head of the Soviet KGB and Putin’s power over the region is firmly entrenched. The western hemisphere is still plagued with communism; dictators ruling over impoverished subjects still wag their fingers threatening our form of democracy. Russian submarines are again frequenting the waters off our eastern coast. Do not think for one moment that the Soviet dream of being the world superpower has died; they are merely trying out capitalism for a while. Communist parties are quickly regaining popularity in Russian politics. Stay tuned.
The Islamic Revolution has infiltrated our society to the degree that it will now require draconian measures to eradicate it from our midst. As witnessed on September 11, 2001, our nation is under attack by the Islamic Revolution, the followers of a perverted self-proclaimed prophet named Muhammad. Our enemies are Muslims who have read their texts and obey the teachings of a bloodthirsty madman. What we so commonly refer to as “terrorists” are actually warriors, soldiers of Islam; these are not just a few “radicals,” rather, they are simply faithful Muslims carrying out the dictates of their religion.
The threat posed by the Islamic Revolution is the greatest our nation has ever faced. Now deeply ensconced into virtually every town in our nation, Muslims have gained a foothold on our soil as a fifth column in our midst. Evidence of this is the deafening silence after the attacks of 9-11 emanating from the Islamic community. Such a horrific act demanded a monumental outcry of condemnation from fellow Muslims, yet the Islamic community centers across the United States were mute. In many part of the world Muslims passed out candy and celebrated the jihadist attack on America.
Rather than sharpening our awareness about the Islamic fifth column in our nation we have preferred to deny that it exists. When anyone suggests that we monitor our nation’s mosques for signs of jihadist activity Muslims quickly lash out calling the very idea religious discrimination and oppression of their religion. In an effort to prove how tolerant our nation is we cower back and refuse to monitor the foremost source of jihadist bigotry, hate and violence in our midst. Violent demonstrations held by Muslims in this country serve to further intimidate peace loving Americans from daring to speak up about suspicious Muslims for fear of retribution, or at the very least a discrimination lawsuit. Islamic training camps are springing up across the United States; children are being taught how to repel walls in some Muslim schools. All this is allowed to continue unabated because we stubbornly remain tolerant of the socio-political Islamic ideology and do not want to appear to be discriminatory.
This past November Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim doctor in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Hood, shot and killed 13 and wounded more than 30. This was a classic jihad style attack with all the markers. President Obama immediately declared to the nation that we needed not to “jump to any conclusions” about whether or not this was a jihadist attack. The President was surely briefed that the assailant was shouting how great his pseudo-god was as he sprayed a room full of 300 soldiers with bullets. Several weeks after the attack by Major Hasan our news organs were still trying to convince the nation how Hasan was just suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, though the Major had never been deployed into a theater of war. There were several events connected with Major Hasan that should have triggered his being reported for espousing jihadist viewpoints months before the attack. Because of tolerance and fear of being labeled racist nobody spoke out about the killer, until it was too late.
We must be willing as a nation to recognize and admit the obvious. The Islamic Revolution is positioning to cause us great harm, working tirelessly to defeat what they refer to as “the great Satan,” the United States. The cancer has spread all around us and it is going to require drastic measures to foil the plans for our nation’s demise. Call it discrimination, call it racism, call it what you will, I call it survival. Islam is not just a religion; it is a socio-political ideology that requires that every Muslim conquer for his pseudo-god any ground where he sets foot. This ideology must be defeated — before it defeats us.
If there are any so-called moderate Muslims they need to clearly and publicly denounce the tenants of their religion that call for jihad, “holy war” against all infidels (anyone that is not a Muslim). Jihad is a multifaceted term and in its most fundamental sense is a violent organized war considered to be the sacred duty of every Muslim, at whatever level they are capable of. Islam’s Koran and all the oral and written traditions mandate that if you are not in a position to wage the violent struggle personally you are to support those who do, in any way you can. This jihad is much more than the philosophical inward struggle for peace and serenity as many Muslims would have us believe. Islam, the religio-political system of belief and governance is built upon a foundation of jihad in its truest sense, violent conquest and domination of anyone who is not submitted to their form of religion. You only have to recall the gruesome murder of Daniel Pearl, whose beheading was video taped and televised so the world would understand how Islam deals with those who reject the teachings of their messenger/prophet Mohammed. If any Muslim considers himself to be moderate or peaceful, let him or her publicly renounce in the strongest of terms this jihad and the goal of conquest of the world for their pseudo-god. In addition to renouncing jihad let these “moderates” work feverishly to reform their bloodstained religion. Muslims who profess to be peaceful should come to a point of decision where they would take a hard look at the teachings of Islam, the Koran and their other writings. I don’t see how they could arrive at any other conclusion than that they should then renounce the whole religion because it is based on the concepts of expansionism, bloodlust and murder.
If the tea party movement is sincere about solving what is ailing our nation they must address all these points to be successful. To only address one or two issues out of the bunch is like sweeping a little dust off the front porch during a windstorm. If we address all the domestic issues while neglecting the threat posed by foreigners to our republic we will leave ourselves dangerously exposed and will suffer great harm. I have been happy to hear candidates running for office speaking about the grave danger the political Islamic ideology poses; they are straightforward and honest about just who and what our enemy is. Now, if Americans would step up to the plate and begin to renounce unbalanced tolerance and work to guard our country from threats, domestic and foreign, then we may make genuine progress.
When we the people are willing to stand tall and demand truth and honesty from our politicians and eradicate the corruption form the halls of Congress, and the White House, we may be able to regain the respect of the nations around us. First, it will have to begin with us, “We the People” will have to get back to our Judeo-Christian principles, renounce humanism and embrace our Constitution once again. We have a lot of hard work ahead, and concerning Islam we may have more than we can imagine. If we delay we allow the problem to proliferate and the task to become more difficult by the day. If we fail to clean the corruption from Congress this election cycle we will loose the ability to control the Executive Branch. If we fail to take up the mantle of clearing out the Islamic threat we will loose everything. Lets get busy.
