PM Netanyahu Bends to Obama

Today Prime Minister Netanyahu finally bent to pressure from the Obama Administration to say he would consider a new Arab state in the midst of Israel.  Bibi conceded to consider a so-called “palestinian” state after the enemy of the Jewish people recognizes Israel as a Jewish State; “then we will be ready in a future peace agreement to reach a solution where a demilitarized “palestinian” state exists alongside the Jewish state.”  Though Bibi laid out numerous pre-conditions to the acceptance of the new Arab state the fact that he would even consider the notion is not a good sign.  Once opening the door to such possibilities it is difficult to retract the offer when things do not work out later.  The fact that Arafat continued to be treated as if he were a statesman after the Oslo peace agreements were breached repeatedly by the Arabs is proof of just how difficult it is to withdraw such an offer.

The entire Oslo agreement is a farce at this point, having been trampled upon by the Arabs, Israel should have ended the process long ago.  The so-called “palestinian” Authority (“p”A), which is just the white washed “p”LO, has broken every commitment in the various stages of the Peace Accords.  Many of the commitments were never met at all.  Israel, on the other hand, has bent over backward to meet and exceed their commitments even when there was no reciprocity.

In his speech today Bibi made a drastic and all too common mistake of agreeing to this notion of an enemy state in the midst of Israel.  In like fashion Ehud Barak when he was Prime Minister met with the arch terrorist Arafat at Camp David during the Clinton Administration and offered his enemy ninety eight percent of everything he had ever demanded.  Of course, it was rejected by Arafat, because he never imagined Israel would really agree to his terms of surrender, he planned on using the Oslo agreements to continue his political war with the Jews.  When offered the moon Arafat refused and to deflect the reality of what just took place he began the Intifada, the bloody rampage of the Arabs in the Israeli territories.  Nonetheless, Barak had made the largest blunder of all in his attempt to show Arafat for the disingenuous negotiator he was, once an Israeli leader had offered concessions on a grand scale the Nations ceased the opportunity to hold the Jewish State to the limits of what was offered out of spite.  If Israel had never offered to allow the Arabs a new state on Israel’s soil it would have been much easier to put an end to the Oslo agreements because the Arabs refused to honor their end of the bargain.

Making the mistake of holding out the hope of a new Arab state Bibi has now added his new government to the rolls of those who have held out a bone to the ravenous Arab/Muslim jihad animal only to be bitten in the end.

In his speech Bibi made various conditions that will likely never be met by the Arabs; acceptance of the Jewish State and it’s right to exist, defeating Hamas in Gaza and the willingness to demilitarize the new enemy state.  The so-called “palestinians” will never genuinely meet these conditions.  The “p”LO charter was never changed to accept Israel and remove the provisions calling for the complete destruction of the Jewish Nation.  The proposed maps of the new Arab state still encompass the entire track of land known as Israel.  The harsh reality is that the so-called “palestinian” people do not want peace because they will not accept a Jewish entity on what the Arab nations erroneously consider to be Muslim land, the entire Middle East.

One bright spot in the speech was Bibi’s reference to the settlers of Judea and Samaria “The settlers are neither the enemies of the people nor the enemies of peace. Rather, they are an integral part of our people, a principled, pioneering and Zionist public.”  Surely this comment, even an endorsement of the settlement communities,  caused not a little consternation in the Oval Office.  Bibi has again shown his political prowess in that he has attempted to placate the right-wing elements of his coalition by recognizing their cause as a righteous one.  One can only hope Bibi will act toward these same settlers with as much respect.

Missing from his speech today are the words and sentiments of the old Netanyahu who used to proclaim Israel’s right to establish communities in all of Israel, including Judea and Samaria.  The hawk has become a politician of the world.  Lacking in the office of Prime Minister for quite some time has been a person that has a connection with the Biblical Inheritance of the descendants of Jacob.  Without this sense of continuity with the Land, Judea, Samaria, the Golan and Gaza are merely real estate to be bought and sold for a price.  G-d forbid.
