Israel Refuses to Bow to Obama’s Pressures
So far Israeli Leader Benjamin Netanyahu has stood up remarkably well to the pressures applied by President Obama to commit national suicide. Outside of the outposts being dismantled (polite word for destroyed) and Jews being thrown out of their Biblical inheritance, Bibi is doing better than many expected. I know that Israel officially states that the outposts being destroyed had nothing to do with pressure from America, lets just say it was extremely bad timing. Right.
Everyone was anxious to see what happened when Abbas had his cherished visit with Obama. Seems as if all the Muslim world is clamoring to get an audience with the American president who was reared in a Muslim environment and schooled in a madrassa. Did anyone expect any different that what came out of the meeting with the prime terrorist Abass (aka Abu Mazen)? Abbas laid out his demands that Israel recognize the two-state plan before the “p”A would agree to resume talks. Audacity, a word Obama is familiar with, the audacity of the Arab enemy of any form of Jewish Nation to make demands that Israel would concede to a state for a terrorist enemy on Jewish land. Audacity, the audacity of the American president to propose such a thing is acceptable.
We are not talking about audacity of hope, wherein someone with the odds stacked against them defies all the obstacles to achieve an honorable goal. We are talking about unmitigated gaul, the audacity of someone to desire to eradicate a nation of people just because of their religious heritage. In any free country this sort of behavior is now classified as hate crimes. The world looks on with the simplistic nod of tacit approval, the same acknowledgment given to Hitler and his evil henchmen leading up to the Shoa.
Mr. Obama goes to the Middle East next week, I just cant wait to see what comes out of this trip. Don’t look for the American media to report what is said to the Arab leaders, their messiah can do no wrong. After Obama’s bow to the king of Mecca, I have serious reservations about his ability to, or desire to, do the right thing; this man has an agenda. Israel best be on their guard.
The Jewish nation has lost its ally in the U.S., the bonds of friendship are quickly being broken. For the Israeli leaders to depend on America to help them right now would be a deadly mistake. Bibi and his cabinet need to make a bold stand outright rejecting the demands of Abbas and Obama to freeze jewish growth in Judea and Samaria. To sit by and not make definitive moves to show the world they are serious about Israeli sovereignty is inviting more condemnation with the goal of further decay of the right of Jews to live in peace in their Land. To continue to expel Israeli homesteads from the hilltops of Judea and Samaria is to say to the world that Abbas is correct in what he demands, this is the wrong message to be sending at such a sensitive time.
For President Obama to regard Israel as an independent, sovereign entity that is not going to be directed from the Oval Office he will need to see a Kenessit that calls its own shots and does not punish its own people if the U.S. president sneezes. Just as the Islamic world only respects a government that shows power, so the American leadership needs to see resolve and consistency on the part of Israel’s Kenessit leaders.
So far Prime Minister Netanyahu has shown some strength, but the destruction of Israeli homes is a sign of weakness that will be exploited by President Obama and the Muslim world. The next couple of weeks are going to be crucial in the struggle to maintain Israel’s right to be a self determining government; Bibi, you cannot afford to be seen as less than determined not to allow the American leader to treat Israel like a banana republic. Just say no, Bibi.
